Anubis
As most recent addition to the Active Duty map pool, Counter-Strike 2’s Anubis is slowly becoming a favorite amongst players. The layout is simple, yet lends itself well to dynamic rotates and aggression for both sides. Featuring elements of verticality without it being its calling card like Nuke and Vertigo.
This might have you think that boosts common on Anubis. However, they are actually less prevalent on this map compared to the others in the map pool. In this blog post, we’ll cover the four boosts we consider essential to know for de_anubis.
Left side of B site
On the left side of the big monolith that makes up the B site, you can boost on a bit of rock, allowing you to look over the top of it, into B Main. Once the initial utility fades, it’s a useful boost to deploy when looking for an easy frag. Most players will not be pre-aiming this spot. You can also see over the smoke that lands on that side of the bombsite. Be careful though, you’re extremely vulnerable to attacks from connector.
Right side of B site
This is essentially the same boost as the previous one, just deployed on the opposite side of the site. You’re a bit safer from connector, but depending on your positioning, you can be a bit more exposed to B Main.
Left side of Middle
On the left side of T Middle, you can boost on the box to see over the usual smoke CTs will throw. Due to the way smokes function, it can sometimes be difficult or impossible to get a good angle on an opponent, but when you do, it’ll be an almost guaranteed way to catch them off guard. Combine this with a Molotov for the Doors area and you’ll have an easy frag.
Dark on B Site
It is possible to boost over the cover located in the “Dark” area of B site. While it’s not an excellent boost because of it being a positional dead-end, it’s still worth having in your playbook when on an eco round, or when playing very passive.
How to find your own boosts using Refrag
Want to find more boosts on Anubis, and other CS2 maps? It’s incredibly easy to craft your own clever head-stacks with Refrag.
In an empty server running the NADR mod, you can use the .botboost
command to spawn a bot directly below you. Simply go to a position you’d like to test a boost in and type the command.
To see what it would look like from the enemy POV, from the top of the boost, aim at the spot you would peek from as the enemy and type .bot
. Then, type .bring
to teleport that bot to your current position. You’re now free to noclip out from the boost and see what it looks like from the enemy POV. For a complete list of commands, check the Refrag Wiki.
