CS2 Utility Secrets: 5 Must-Know Nades For Overpass

Overpass is back! With the latest CS2 update, Anubis has been removed from the competitive map pool and has been replaced with an old favorite – Overpass. With its large size, emphasis on methodical, tactical play, and multiple rotate points, this is one of those maps that might seem a little overwhelming for newer or returning players. Together, in another of our Utility Secrets series, we’re going to take a look at five of the most important CS2 nades on Overpass, so you can get your game up to scratch. Let’s jump in.

Heaven Smoke From Short

If you’re looking to take control of the B site whilst on the T-side, being able to smoke Heaven effectively is a crucial weapon in your arsenal. Whilst there are a number of different lineups from different spots, we’ve gone for a nice simple one to get you started.

First, you’re going to get stuck in the corner of the board, as shown below.

Next, position your crosshair as shown:

Now it’s just as simple as left-clicking, and you have the perfect Heaven smoke.

Monster Smoke From CT

These two smokes are practically a cheat code for taking early B control on CT. Get your A player to learn these, and your B players are going to be loving life. Both of these smokes are thrown from the exact same spot – the corner of the dumpster at…Dumpster.

For a perfect Monster smoke, position your crosshair as shown and Jump-throw.

Short Smoke From CT

For the Short smoke, look here:

And Jump-throw again. Boom – Monster and Short are both smoked off before the T-side players can get to them!

Bank Smoke From Mid

Now for our last two smokes, we’re going to look at a super-easy double-smoke execute you can throw onto A site, from Mid. First, we’re going to learn how to throw a perfect Bank smoke.

For both of these smokes, you’re going to get lined up in the same place – the corner of the leftmost bench, as shown below.

For the Bank smoke, you’re going to position your crosshair as shown, and jump-throw.

Dumpster Smoke From Mid

For the Dumpster smoke, find the right-hand circular vent. Position your crosshair on the right side of it, then go up vertically until reaching the edge of the roof, as shown below.

Now, once again, it’s just a simple jump-throw. Now you have two perfect smokes to help you pop onto the A site.

So, there you go. Five useful pieces of utility to improve your game on Overpass significantly. CS2 nades on Overpass are incredibly key to victory, even more so than other maps.
