CS2 Patch Notes: Everything new with Premier Season 2

Valve have just launched a new update, and with it comes a new Premier competitive season. In this blog post, we’ll break down exactly what’s been revealed so far about Valve’s plans for the seasonal competitive format, as well as how to earn your Season One and Season Two Premier medals.

Season One Details

Premier Season One ran from the game’s launch from late 2023 until now, and if you earned a CS Rating during that time, you’ll receive a commemorative Premier Season One Medal. With this medal, your per-map statistics for the season will be available for you to peruse.

Season Two Details

Season Two arrives sometime next week, according to Valve’s blog post. The long-teased swap of Vertigo with Train is due to take place with this update, as well as changes to the M4A4 and FAMAS. The M4A4’s price is being reduced to $2900, and the FAMAS is receiving some stat TLC in the form for standing and crouching accuracy, as well as having it’s price reduced. It’s yet to be seen if that’s all the changes Valve has planned for this update.

Season Two is scheduled to end after the Austin Major, however, an exact start and end date haven’t been provided by Valve. The awarded Season Two Medal will correspond to your CS Rating that season, along with indicators for win total.
