It’s coming back! According to some recent X posts from the official Counter-Strike account, an old fan favorite looks set for a return to the competitive map pool at some point soon. Cache has been purchased from FMPONE, leaving CS2 fans excited for a return to the Soviet-themed battleground. Today, in another of our Utility Secrets series, we’re going to take a look at five of the most useful pieces of utility on the CS2 version of de_cache.
Mid Popflash
First, we’re going to blind our enemies on Mid. This is a super-easy popflash with minimal time for the T-Side mid players to react. First, you’re going to want to line up here:

Next, position your crosshair as shown below, and simply right-click jumpthrow.

If thrown correctly, the flash will pop approximately where the crosshair is in the following image.

T-Mid Smoke
Staying in Mid for the time being, we’re going to take a look at a very easy T-Mid smoke, designed to make it as difficult as possible for the T-Side to take early mid control.
Position yourself in the right-hand corner of the washing machine outside the CT spawn, as shown below.

Next, position your crosshair as shown, and simply jumpthrow.

If thrown perfectly, this smoke will block the T-Mid Garage entrance, making the opening few seconds of the round particularly uncomfortable for your Mid-playing counterpart.

A Main Smoke
Next, we’re going to look at another super useful smoke thrown from the same washing machine lineup spot. Once you are tucked up next to the machine, position your crosshair as shown below.

Now, this smoke is a little bit more complicated than the last one. Once your crosshair is positioned as shown above, you’re going to want to shift walk until your crosshair hits this point:

As soon as your crosshair hits this point, jumpthrow whilst shift-walking for a perfect A Main smoke.

A Catwalk Molly
Now we’re going to throw a pretty cheesy molly. This one is sure to annoy the CT Catwalk player. First, get tucked into this corner:

Next, position your crosshair as shown:

Then simply jumpthrow. This molly will bounce onto the rooftop above Catwalk, and will drip down to burn out the common Cat angle, as shown below.

B Tree Smoke
Finally, we’re going to head over to the B site and take a look at a simple smoke for Tree. Firstly, get yourself lined up as shown below.

Once you’re lined up correctly, position your crosshair like this:

Then simply jumpthrow. It’s as easy as that. Now, Tree is smoked off, and you’ll have a somewhat easier time getting onto the B Site unscathed.

So, there you have it. A quick look through five of the most useful utility lineups for the upcoming release of Cache. Now you can head into your pugs with style…remember, though – good utility is not all it takes to be a good Counter-Strike player. Don’t forget to keep yourself sharp and focus on other in-game skills, such as angle clearing, crosshair placement, and high-pressure decision making.
