Welcome to the first step in your journey to becoming a better Counter-Strike 2 player.
In this article, we’ll be going over the basics of how to use Refrag. Everything from starting your own server, switching between practice mods and where to find additional commands to further customize your experience.
Refrag Dashboard & Starting a Refrag Server
Upon logging in, you’ll be greeted with your Refrag Dashboard. This is your hub for everything Refrag. This is where you start a server, select practice mods and maps, see your Crossfire high scores, browse community made practice sets through the Community Hub and much more.
Starting a server is done by hitting the “Play Now” button in the top right corner. Once loaded, you can join the server by clicking on the play button or by copying and pasting the server IP into your CS2 console. Also from this screen is the mod and map selection screen. By default, the mode is Crossfire when you first load in unless another practice mod is selected.
Using Crossfire & Prefire
Crossfire
Once joined, you’ll be dropped into Crossfire’s Practice mode. Crossfire is a fun, fast paced game mode where you shoot at bots that peek you with realistic movement from common positions. You can start training right away, but if you want to record a score to compare with other users, you’ll have to switch to Competitive mode typing .comp
into the game chat. It’s a good idea to set an initial benchmark to measure yourself against in the future, giving you that tangible improvement you’re looking for!
There are some useful commands you should know. To change maps, use the command .map
, followed by which map you’d like to switch to. For example, to switch to Anubis, type .map de_anubis
. You can also change map and mod in one command by typing .modname map_name
. If I wanted to play Crossfire on Anubis, I’d type .crossfire anubis
. .endless
allows you to play the current arena endlessly, in case you want to practice a specific position. When you want to stop the practice mod, use the .stop
command.
Prefire
Prefire allows you to practice your pre-aim for most common angles on a variety of maps. The practice mod places bots at common positions that you clear along your path. It’s a great way to work on your entry pathing and also serves as a fun warmup!
Refrag comes with it’s own Prefire game mode. After launching your server, you can access it through the Dashboard or type .prefire
in-game. Typing .start
will throw you right into the action. Like Crossfire, Prefire also has it’s own competitive mode with leaderboards, which can be accessed using .comp
.
The Refrag Wiki
Refrag is best experienced when you customize it to your training needs, and you do that through commands. The Refrag Wiki contains all the commands you’ll need to know to control your experience and maximize your training gains.
The wiki can be found at https://wiki.refrag.gg/. Once there, you’ll find the left sidebar to be populated with each mod, along with a FAQ, Changelog, and some miscellaneous CS2 resources. This is a great reference to have open while you explore what Refrag has to offer. If you have any questions regarding how to use Refrag, chances are you can find answers to them on the wiki. If what you’re looking for isn’t listed, someone in our thriving Discord community may have an answer. You can also submit support tickets in Discord for any technical issues you may come across.
Happy Fragging!
