Refrag Updates – Huge Coach Update, New Rating System, & more!

As always, the team of nerds behind Refrag have been working hard to deliver the best possible CS2 training experience for our users. In this short article, we’re going to give you a look at what we’ve been working on. Let’s jump in.

Intelligent Coaching (For Competitor Tier subscribers)

Coach now gives you advice! Not only does Refrag Coach have all the functionality that it always has done – it can tell you what you’re doing well, what you’re not so good at, and can make customized, bespoke routines just for you – but it can now give you actionable feedback in plain English.

Refrag Coach has always been analyzing your matches, but it now uses the data gathered from your games uses it to craft specific advice tailored precisely to you based on your performance. In the above example, Coach is letting me know that I have been dying in untradeable positions too often and have also lacked damage with my HE grenades in my FACEIT games.

It can pick up on this and give you a 1-2 sentence snippet of advice which you can immediately focus on and work on in your matches. If you hover over the underlined text in the feedback, it will give you a more detailed explanation of what it means, as seen below:

Right now, there are two ways for Competitor Tier subscribers to access this feedback from Coach:

On the Refrag Coach page of your Dashboard, you’ll find the “big-picture” insights taken from all of the matches that Coach has parsed through. You can generate insights from the last 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days of matches.

Coach also provides feedback for individual matches, and that can be found on the match page after Coach has finished analyzing the game.

This feature is exclusive to Competitor tier subscribers. Nothing has changed about the way Core subscribers can access their Coach data. Their matches are processed in the same way they always have been, just without the new plain-English insights.

The science behind how Refrag Coach is able to do this is, frankly, incredibly impressive. We will be releasing a more in-depth article on that (and more data-centric stuff) soon. Keep an eye out for it!

Refrag Rating 2.0

The Refrag Rating system has been entirely reworked. Taking data from our new Coach demo processing system, Refrag’s new rating system is now more detailed, more accurate, and more representative of your in-game performance. It is based on a large number of variables and is aimed to provide you with a ‘true skill rating’ that accurately reflects your skill set in CS2 for not just individual matches, but over a larger sample size, too.

Two New Stats

Refrag Coach is now tracking two new stats. Here is a brief explainer of what each one is called, and what they do:

Full Movement Accuracy %: This statistic takes into account all rifle bullets shot. It calculates the percentage of those shots that were fired slowly enough to be fully accurate, shot whilst standing still, or shot whilst counter-strafing.

Velocity Control:  This statistic tracks how accurately you stop before you shoot. It takes into account counter-strafing attempts, including both successful and failed counter-strafes. It tracks your movement input relative to taking a fight, and gives you a rating. Full credit for rifle shots at accurate speed, half for counter-strafing too late, a quarter for slowing down without counter-strafing, and none if you’re shooting on the move.

These changes are live!

As always, the team behind Refrag continues to work on improvements, new modes, and new features for all of the Refrag community to enjoy. If you want to see what Coach has to say about your previous matches, you can! These changes are already live and available for you to check out in the Refrag Dashboard.
