Prefire has been one of Refrag’s oldest training modes, allowing you to learn common angles your opponents will hold during CS games. This mode has been the go-to for learning crosshair positioning, prefiring, and using various types of peeks. With our newest update, we’re updating prefire to the 2.0 version, with improvements that will bring it to the next level.
Randomized Spawns
The original prefire mode would have you train with static bot positions, over time these have rarely been changed or adjusted; resulting in players running through prefire by memory more so than by using mechanics and skill. This would in turn halt people’s improvement over time.
We’re remedying this by having randomized spawns for each arena. This ensures that, when training, you’ll always have to remain alert for where an enemy could possibly be, emulating an actual game situation in a more realistic way.
Bot Displacement
Another way to ensure that you won’t be prefiring the exact same spot each time is with our Bot Displacement feature. You’ll notice that while spawn positions might be the similar at times, the bots can be a couple of inches to the left, right, or even closer to you than you had imagined. This again emulates an actual in-game scenario more closely and will have players focus on micro-adjusting their aim when the opponent’s head ends up being ever so slightly off position.
Duo Mode
CS2 is not a single-player game. And training shouldn’t always be solo either. This is why we’re introducing Duo Mode to Prefire. In Duo mode, you can play prefire scenarios with a teammate and clear the area together. At times you’ll spawn together, and sometimes you’ll be at different spawns that will converge together over time. Duo mode is a great way to make sure your communication together is up to par, and will help you focus on taking engagements together, in addition to learning all the other mechanics that Prefire helps you with.
We hope these new features will help you along your training to become a better CS2 player. If you have any questions, feel free to join our Discord. Our community and staff members will gladly help you along.
