Vertigo received a big facelift in the most recent CS2 patch that was released on May 23rd, 2024. Player complaints centered around the very A site-centric gameplay, and Valve heard these concerns, adding completely new passageways into the site and closing others off. In this blog post, we’ll show you the biggest changes to de_vertigo in the most recent Counter-Strike 2 patch.
This is the most glaring change that was done to the map. An additional passageway onto the A bomb-site gives many more angles of defense from the CTs.
CTs receive another pathway into the A bomb-site in the form of a catwalk on the edge of the site, much like the one on the B bomb-site.
This hallway connecting the 3 areas had its Elevator entrance closed off, where there now resides a door. The door is not able to be wall-banged.
The overall size of the A bomb-site was reduced slightly. Many of the angles feel tighter and smokes will cover more area.
The T side benefit the most from these tweaks, allowing them to reach all areas of the map slightly quicker than before.
