Figuring out what part of your game to train can be difficult for CS2 players. You might know what maps you struggle to play well on, but it’s extremely easy to feel paralyzed by the number of choices for practice mods available on Refrag. Our goal is to make you a better Counter-Strike player, and with Bootcamp, we think we’ve found a formula that’s incredibly effective.

In this blog, we’ll be going over what Bootcamp is, and how to utilize it to the maximum.

What is Bootcamp?

Refrag’s newest innovation in CS2 training has arrived in the form of Bootcamp. Bootcamp are a series of fully featured courses intended to accelerate your learning and improvement on each map. Within, you’ll find Aim, Peeking, Holding and Utility training. In each section, you’ll be shown a recording of the task given, and you’ll be expected to replicate what you see to the best of your ability.

Upon finishing a task, you’ll automatically be placed into the next one, so there’s no need to type any commands or load into any new maps.

To start a Bootcamp course, simply navigate to the Bootcamp page, found in the sidebar of your Refrag Dashboard.

Once on the Bootcamp page, you’re free to select your map of choice. Whichever map you feel you struggle with the most is a good place to start. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to select a difficulty level.

There are three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The Beginner difficulty is intended to be for the player who’s just getting into CS2 training and is a great place to start if you don’t know where to start. Bots will give you ample time to react, and the content contained within this course level is basic; just the essentials.

Intermediate scales up the bot reaction time, the amount of time each task takes, and is great for the player who considers themselves middle-of-the-road in skill.

Advanced difficulty is for the budding pro. Bots react almost as quick as a player would, so good aim and fast reactions are required to finish the course in this difficulty tier.

Aim

The first section of each Bootcamp is Aim training. Within, you’ll find a series of tasks designed to get your aim nice and warm. No matter the difficulty, we start with an Aimbotz arena and finish with the Spray training mod, designed to train your spray control and transfer ability.

Peeking

The second section of Bootcamp is the Peeking section. This section is designed specifically to train your peeking ability around the common angles of the map. This is where the bulk of the tangible improvement will begin for your Bootcamp experience. The type of tasks you’ll receive depends on what difficulty level you’ve chosen, so if you’re getting stuck in this section or any following sections, consider stepping down a difficulty level.

Holding

This section is essentially the opposite of the Peeking section. You’ll be tasked with training mods that require you to hold positions from an onslaught of bots. This is a great section to focus on if you’re having trouble putting up consistent performances on CT side.

Utility

To finish off the course, you’ll be working on your Utility. In this section, you’ll watch a replay of a utility lineup, then be expected to execute the throw yourself.

Accuracy is king in this section. Landing it as close as possible to the center of the target is key. In the in-game chat, you’ll get feedback on how accurate your throw was in the form of an accuracy percentage. If the grenade didn’t land close enough to the required position, your accuracy percentage will be low, and you’ll have to throw the grenade again.

Bootcamp is for players of all skill levels. Anyone with a Refrag subscription can jump in and start improving immediately.

Is Bootcamp multiplayer?

At the time of publication of this blog, Bootcamp is for solo players only.
